India - Friday, Dec 01 2006: The carcass of a partially eaten blue sheep (Pseudois nayaur) lies on a rocky slope in Hemis National Park. It was killed by a snow leopard (Uncia uncia) the previous evening. The blue sheep is the major ungulate in the region. Studies have shown that blue sheep are the primary prey species for snow leopards (Uncia uncia) in Hemis National Park. (Photo by Peter Horrell / http://www.peterhorrell.com)
